“Born Global – Japanese Ventures on the Map Symposium 2014”
With venture capital investment showing a sign of recovery in 2013, growing number of Japanese startups are striving to compete in the global market. More and more Japanese startups have chosen to relocate to Silicon Valley, U.S. or other oversea locations. What they are looking for is success in the U.S. market, or mentoring and support by U.S. based venture capital firms to assist them become a leader in the global market.
Startups competing in the global market call for investment environment to be also global. Having foreign investors’ join the financing or M&A processes, and having their inputs in the management will help Japanese startups to leap in the global market
Against this backdrop, this symposium will examine elements of investment climate that support startups eying the global market.
Japanese and foreign experts on venture capitals and startups will review the performance data of Japanese startups and offer their evaluation from global perspective. Three Japanese startups with great potential that are developing their business outside of Japan are also invited to speak about funding and support they receive and challenges they face.
The symposium is intended for anyone who has interest in startups and venture capital investment, including venture capitalist, entrepreneurs aiming global market, and those who support entrepreneurs.
