Paper by Associate Professor Veerayooth Kanchoochat awarded by the Journal of Contemporary Asia

The editors of the Journal of Contemporary Asia awarded GRIPS Associate Professor Veerayooth Kanchoochatʼs paper, “Sick Tiger: Social Conflict, State–Business Relations and Exclusive Growth in Thailand”, as a runner-up (second place) for the best article published in 2021 on January 28, 2022.

This paper was co-authored with two former GRIPS Ph.D. students, namely, Trin Aiyara and Bank Ngamarunchot.

 

Associate Professor Kanchoochatʼs specialty is the political economy of development. He holds a Bachelor in Engineering and Masterʼs in Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, before completing an MPhil. and Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, UK. At GRIPS, He teaches Comparative Political Economy and Contemporary Development Issues.
