GRIPS had a training program for 15 Officials including the Secretary-General of the Office of the Council of State (OCS) of the Royal Thai Government from March 12 to March 16, 2018.

In the program, participants attended a series of lectures given by Senior Professor Masahiro Horie (Director of Executive Development Center for Global Leadership),  Professor Koichiro Yuji(University of Tokyo), Professor Masaki Fukuda (Osaka University), Deputy Director Yukari Tachibana of the International Cooperation Division of the Global Strategy Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications(MIC), Principal Deputy Director Hajime Onga of the ICT Strategy Policy Division of the Information and Communications Bureau of MIC, Director for Cybersecurity Strategy Chie Fukushima of the Information and Communications Bureau of MIC. Deputy Director General Tagui Ichikawa of the Artificial Intelligence Department of Information Technology and Human Factors.

Through the lectures participants learned a wide range of subjects, including Basic Japanese Government and Administrative Systems and Organizations, Legal System and, Legislative Review, Local Government Administration and Local Governance, History of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and application of AI technologies, Cybersecurity Policies in Japan and Administrative and Legal Matters related AI, Effects and Dilemma of AI in the Government and Public Sector.

In the wrap-up session on the final day, Prof. Horie made a follow-up lecture and Q&A session was held. Many participants expressed their acknowledgement for ample content of the program. Finally, in concluding ceremony, certificate of completing the course was given to all participants.
