GRIPS, together with Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) and International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF), co-hosted a webinar “Practicing Development Cooperation in a Changing World—Sharing Experience between Japan and Taiwan” on November 2, 2021.

Professor Izumi Ohno of GRIPS gave a lecture entitled, “Japanese Development Cooperation in a Changing World,” in which she discussed the evolution of Japan’s development cooperation and recent initiatives, and future prospects in the SDGs era, with the changing international environment. Following Prof. Ohno’s lecture, Mr. Stephen J. H. Lee, Deputy Secretary General of Taiwan ICDF, gave a presentation on Taiwan ICDF’s approach to international cooperation. The webinar, which attracted about 30 participants, was moderated by Dr. H.H. Michael Hsiao, the Chairman of TAEF.

During the discussion session, participants raised questions about issues related to Japan’s development cooperation and public sector-private sector partnership.
