You are required to change your status of residence whenever your main activity in Japan changes. After getting the new status of residence, present your updated Residence Card to the GRIPS Student Office.
For those who wish to apply for the status of residence for Designated Activities to engage in job-searching after graduation from GRIPS:
Upon completion of study, GRIPS students, especially master’s students, are expected to return to their home countries and to work in the field of public policy and administration utilizing the knowledge and skills acquired during their study at GRIPS. Therefore, we, in principle, do not support master’s students to apply for a change of status of residence to “Designated Activities” to engage in job-searching after completion from GRIPS. If you are a doctoral student and wish to apply for such status of residence, please contact the GRIPS Student Office.
