GRIPS had a training program for 10 Officials of the Office of the Council of State (OCS) of the Royal Thai Government from June 12 to June 16, 2017.

In the program, participants attended a series of lectures given by Senior Professor Masahiro Horie (Director of Executive Development Center for Global Leadership), Professor Shunsuke Kimura (Meiji University), Associate Professor Yasuyuki Watanabe, Professor Tateo Arimoto, and Professor Emeritus Hisayoshi Hashimoto. Through the lectures the participants learned a wide range of subjects, including Basic Japanese Government and Administrative Systems and Organizations, Local Government Administration and Local Governance, Legal System and Legislative Service, Special Zones for Structural Reform, Policy and Law on Science & Technology and Innovation, and Policy and Law for Promoting Start-ups and SMEs.

In the wrap-up session on the final day, Prof. Horie made a follow-up lecture and Q&A session was held. Many participants expressed their acknowledgement for ample content of the program. Finally, in concluding ceremony, certificate of completing the course was given to all participants.
