In response to a request from Thammasat University and the National Municipal League of Thailand, GRIPS conducted a half-day training program on January 21, 2010 for mayors, vice-mayors and several municipal officials from Thailand.

　The 21 member delegation, accompanied by Mr. Thanongsak Thaweethong from the National Municipal League and Thammasat University staff, visited GRIPS and attended lectures given by Professor Yokomichi on recent developments in Japanese local government and by Mr. Katsuaki Goda, an officer from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on local government pension funds.
