On May 9, 2008, GRIPS hosted a visit by 50 members of a delegation of the Communist Youth League of China, led by Mr. Yang Jun, Vice Chairman of Yunnan Sheng Youth Association.

They received a lecture by GRIPS Professor Yonosuke Hara on “Initiatives on the Regional Economy Reconstruction in Japan.” In addition, Mr. Yasutoshi Nishimura, head of the International Department Youth Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party and a member of the House of Councilors, gave a special speech entitled “China-Japan Relations in a Global Context.”

The delegation got acquainted with GRIPS students from China over lunch following the lectures.
