On November 14, the ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, Leon Malazogu, visited GRIPS and met with President Akihiko Tanaka. Since the Republic of Kosovo declared independence in 2008, it has made steady progress with nation-building and made continual effort in the diplomatic arena.

At the start of the meeting, President Tanaka inquired about the current state of affairs in Kosovo. Ambassador Malazogu responded that Kosovo is very grateful for Japan providing technological support, rather than just financial aid. The subsequent conversation went on to cover diplomacy with Asian countries and membership in international agencies.

GRIPS shall continue to proactively enhance programs that provide support for nation building.
