GRIPS held its 2016 graduation ceremony in Soukairou Hall on Friday, March 25, 2016. Degrees were conferred on 80 graduating students. Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Mr. Kihei Maekawa gave the congratulatory speech.

Prof. Dr. Ginandjar Kartasasmita was awarded an honorary doctorate for his contribution to international friendship and goodwill between Japan and Indonesia. Involved for years in important policy decisions by the Indonesian government, Prof. Dr. Ginandjar has also made extremely valuable contributions in his work in education and research activities at GRIPS as a GRIPS Senior Fellow and as a member of the GRIPS International Advisory Committee (IAC).

GRIPS was greatly honored to have the commencement speech given by Prof. Dr. Ginandjar expressed his gratitude to President Takeshi Shiraishi for the invitation, making note of their friendship of many years.
