The eleventh Asian Statesmen’s Forum was held on August 4, 2012 in Jakarta, Indonesia.  This year, topics “The rise of emerging countries and the changing power dynamics in Asia” and “Japan’s New Energy Outlook and the Global Energy Trends” were discussed.

Member statesmen from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan joined the Forum.  Participants shared frank comments on their respective country’s political situation as well as discussions on the role of ASEAN.  The different perspectives were interesting and stimulating, contributing in making the Forum meaningful.
