President of GRIPS Takashi Shiraishi was appointed head of the Japanese government’s cultural exchange mission to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, scheduled from 27 to 30 June, 2012.

The mission aims to discuss future policies for the expansion and enhancement of cultural exchanges and cultural cooperation between Japan and Myanmar with the government officials and other experts of Myanmar. It will report the results of the discussion to the Japanese government as a policy recommendation.

In addition, on the occasion of the dispatch of the mission, a photo exhibition, a lecture presentation, presentation of a Japanese movie, and other cultural events will be held in Myanmar in line with the expertise of each member of the mission.
