At a GRIPS Forum on April 28, 2008, Dr. Tatsuo Hatta, President of GRIPS, gave a lecture on the “Potential of the Japanese Economy.” “Growth can be attained only by expelling outdated producers and organizations,” Dr. Hatta said, explaining that the potential of growth is “realized by the analytical power of policy studies and political will of the people to fight against the vested interests.” The lecture was the first in a series of planned forums in which leaders from government, academia, and business, as well as GRIPS・own faculty members, will deliver lectures on current policy concerns.
