On October 27th, 2011, Mr. Xue Zezhou of the China Central Party School visited GRIPS as the Vice Leader of the China Youth Training Executive Delegation.

The delegation, which had 56 members, had been invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to promote person-to-person exchange between the trainees of the China Central Party School and young leaders of Japan from the government and private sector.

The opening addresses were given by Masahiro Horie, Vice President of GRIPS, and Mr. Xue Zezhou. Then, Mr. Atsushi Nakajima, RIETI Chairman, gave a lecture entitled “Current Status and Perspective of the Japanese Economy”.

The delegation was divided into two groups: One was focused on the environment and the other on rural development. Lectures on these subjects were given by Mr. Yoshiaki Nakamura from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Prof. Kiyotaka Yokomichi of GRIPS, respectively. After the lectures, the groups had lively discussions and Q&A sessions.
