Ltd., Mr. Tsuyoshi Takagi, President of Japan Trade Union Confederation, and Prof. Naohiro Yashiro, International Christian University, to discuss the topic of andrdquo;Restructuring the Japanese Employment Systemandrdquo;. GRIPS Vice President Prof. Hiroko Ota served as the moderator, asking for the panelistsandrsquo; opinions on various problems such as pay disparities, and the increase of non-regular workers. Opinions were expressed on the ways in which labor adjustment can take place without lay offs and the necessary creation of a more flexible labor market. Despite the limited time, the discussion was very lively and many issues were covered.
