The 11th GRIPS Forum“Egyptian-Japanese Partnership in an Increasingly Globalized World”

At a GRIPS Forum held on 26th January, 2009, H.E. Dr. Walid Mahmoud Abdelnasser gave a lecture titled andldquo;Egyptian-Japanese Partnership in an Increasingly Globalized Worldandrdquo;. H.E. Dr. Abdelnasser has been Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Japan since September 2007. Ambassador Abdelnasser delineated the Egyptian-Japanese relation which enjoys a long history in terms of diplomatic, economical and cultural aspects. With regards to the present relations, he took up the andldquo;Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technologyandrdquo; as a successful model of triangular cooperation among Egypt, Japan and other countries. The University is scheduled to start taking students in 2011 from African and Arab countries in order to train the next generation of leaders who will assume responsibility for national affairs in the Middle East. The Qandamp;A session was very lively as numerous ambassadors from the Middle Eastern and African nations exchanged their views on the ways to build international partnership in a globalized world.
