- Professional Career
Matsunaga Masaei joined the Japan International Cooperation Agency in 1985. He participated in the planning of numerous development projects in Asia, Africa, and South America, and served on field missions in Nepal and Vietnam. He was also involved in various institutional reforms of Japan’s development cooperation, especially on technical cooperation, and the introduction of a citizen cooperation program and JICA‘s scholarship program. From 2012 to 2015, he taught at GRIPS and organized executive programs for the leaders of governments in Southeast Asia. He resumed his assignment at GRIPS in 2023.
