Summer Seminar for International Students 2019 “Water Environment and Earth”

 National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies is planning to hold a “Water Environment and Earth Summer Seminar for International Students 2019″. This seminar is sponsored by METAWATER Co., Ltd., KANSEI Co., and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd in cooperation with SUNTORY HOLDINGS LIMITED. The University of Tokyo, Japan Society of Civil Engineers and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism support this seminar.

 This seminar aims to help students understand basics of the water management, i.e., flood control, water utilization, and water environment, by intensive lectures and tours. In detail, we are planning to show you disaster prevention by means of the river management, water utilizations by means of the riverhead management, and environmental management by means of wastewater treatment and water reclamation.

 This seminar started in 2014 and will be continuously held once in two years. Themes of the previous seminars were “Shinkansen”, “urban railway and urban development”, and “highway and car”. From this year “Underground Space Supporting Mega Cities” will start. Students are invited to take advantage of this opportunity by applying for the seminar.
