Summer Seminar for International Students in 2019

“Underground Space Supporting Mega Cities”

National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Hazama Ando Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, Okumura Corporation, Kajima Corporation, Penta-Ocean Construction Co., Ltd, Shimizu Corporation, Taisei Corporation, and Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd. are planning to hold a summer seminar for international students entitled “Underground Space Supporting Mega Cities.” This seminar aims to help students to understand how Tokyo, “as one of the world’s mega cities”, has been developed by use of underground spaces, as well as the technologies and systems to design and construct them. Through a series of lectures by top specialists and practitioners, and technical tours to see the underground spaces in operation and under construction, participants can deepen their understanding of the underground space. All students are invited to take advantage of this opportunity by applying for this seminar.
