The 16th Japanese Speech Event, hosted by CPC Japanese Language Learning, was held on Friday, August 1.
Over the years, international students who study Japanese at GRIPS have taken part in this speech event as the final stage of their year-long commitment to Japanese language learning.
At the event, each speaker delivers a heartwarming speech in Japanese in front of a friendly GRIPS audience to demonstrate their accomplishments and share new ideas.
The number of speakers has continued to increase with 16 speakers in total this year. We also had a large, diverse audience consisting of international and domestic students, GRIPS faculty and staff.
The speech covered a wide range of topics including memorable trips and experiences in Japan as well as the introduction of cultural practices, historical heritages, and modern symbols of the students’ home countries, all of which were received by the audience with great admiration and praise.
In recognition of their achievements, the speakers were awarded with GRIPS original furoshiki and a certificate of participation from CPC.
The speech event served as a demonstration of how Japanese language learning can contribute to a deeper understanding of Japan and its people, leading to a true cross-cultural communication.
