GRIPS Forum: “AI ethics, laws, trust and agent”

RSVP at the Registration Form by October 17, 2024

 

Abstract:

The establishment of legal systems relating to AI is progressing worldwide. In this presentation, we introduce the EU AI Act which is a major AI regulation law. We will also introduce the AI Treaty that is currently being worked on by the Commission of Europe, which may have an impact on Japan in the future. Next, as a future challenge, we will introduce the structure, trust, and issues of AI agents that act as personal representatives, which is an important application of AI.

Speakers’ Profile:
•1975 Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo

•1980 Graduated from the University of Tokyo Graduate School (Doctor of Engineering)

•1980-1999 Faculty of Engineering at Yokohama National University

•1999-2018 Professor at the Information Infrastructure Center at the University of Tokyo,

Concurrently in charge of the Department of Mathematical Informatics at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology

•2017-present RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project, team leader.

Since its establishment in 1997, the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) has promoted research and education on a wide variety of policy issues.
