Training Program for Officials of Financial and Development Supervisory Board (BPKP), Republic of Indonesia 2016

In response to a request from Financial and Development Supervisory Board (BPKP), Republic of Indonesia, GRIPS conducted a five-day training program on “Cross-Sector Development and Collaborative Public Management” for 15 officials of BPKP from November 21st to November 25th, 2016.

 

During the program, the participants attended lectures given by the program director, Professor Hirofumi Takada, as well as Senior Professor Masahiro Horie, and Associate Professor Yasuyuki Watanabe. The participants deepened their understanding about Japanese governmental system, inter-governmental relations, policy coordination among ministries, and administrative evaluation in Japan through a series of lectures. They also visited National Spatial Planning and Regional Policy Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Saitama Prefectural Government, Board of Audit of Japan, and Administrative Evaluation Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and learned about policy planning and coordination as well as policy evaluation and audit, from the officials of each ministry and organization. The participants were eagerly listening to the briefings and actively got involved in the Q&A sessions.

 

On the last day, the wrap-up session was held at GRIPS and Prof. Takada summarized lessons learned from the lectures and visits. Thereafter a certificate was awarded to each participant at the completion ceremony of the five-day program.
