Mar. 15, 2013

CAMPUS Asia GRIPS-KDIS Joint Seminar at KDIS

A joint seminar was held at KDI School (KDIS) in Seoul, Korea from Mar. 14–15, 2013. On the first day, 13 GRIPS students participated in the regular KDIS class “Participatory Governance in Public Decision Making,” conducted by Professor Dong-Young Kim. Professor Kim delivered a lively lecture, with many questions and comments from the GRIPS students as well as KDIS students.

On Mar.15, Professor Kinoshita from GRIPS kicked off a special seminar with a lecture entitled “Evolution in Monetary Policy.” During and after the lecture, students dispatched from ministries and agencies in their home countries, such as the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Bureau, asked questions and made comments for deeper insights.

The afternoon session started with presentations guided by three GRIPS Ph.D. students and one KDIS Ph. D. student. All the presenters received advice and comments on their studies or dissertation proposals. The discussion was stimulating for both presenters and participants at the seminar.

In addition, an introductory presentation about GRIPS was made by the CAMPUS Asia GRIPS-KDIS students who have been studying in our GRIPS-MP1 program since last October. At lunch time, the GRIPS and KDIS students enjoyed international exchange.
