Abstract

In the 1970s, Mitaka City devised a mechanism aimed at promoting citizen’s participation in city planning and thus having their views and opinions reflected in the process of formulating the city’s administrative policies. From the late 20th century to the 21st century Mitaka City has stepped up collaboration with citizens, academics, industry, non-profit organizations (NPOs), and other municipal governments.

This presentation explained about the significance of our ongoing collaborative efforts in solving regional issues, for example Community School, Regional Care Networks, and the importance of governance by local municipalities in deepening their collaboration with citizens.
