COMPACT CITY POLICIES SEMINAR “Compact City Policies and Green Growth”

The OECD has the pleasure of inviting you to the COMPACT CITY POLICIES SEMINAR ”Compact City Policies and Green Growth”, to take place on 11 September, 2012 at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (Soukairou Hall) in Tokyo, co-organised by the OECD, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies.

Compact city policies have lately attracted considerable attention for their contribution to green growth, which will realise environmental-friendliness, economic development and social objectives. In Japan, national and local governments are working collectively in the pursuit of sustainable and resilient development to materialize “compact city” which has contracted urban form.

This seminar will be a valuable opportunity to discuss challenges and directions of compact city policies in Japan with diverse opinion leaders, based on the OECD’s recent publication on “Compact City Policies; comparative analysis”(June 2012).

Therefore, it will be greatly appreciated if you join in this seminar and share your experiences.
