KDI School (KDIS) of Public Policy and Management

KDIS-newKDIS was established in 1997 as a research and educational arm of the Korea Development Institute, Korea’s leading think tank. KDIS has moved its campus from Seoul to the new administrative city – Sejong in the middle part of South Korea early in 2015.

KDIS has established a knowledge infrastructure for analyzing and examining the policy measures currently undertaken in various areas. Such knowledge infrastructure has enabled KDIS to also provide policy-oriented master’s and doctoral programs in order to educate the next generation of leaders in the public and private sectors.

The institution conducts research and education contributing to forming the national vision and providing solutions for major policy issues, such as development and aid, economic policy, monetary economics and monetary policy, trade and industrial policy, environmental policy, international relations and foreign policy.
KDIS conducts all its instruction in English. Its diverse student body ranges from mid-career professionals to new graduates, one-third of which are non-Koreans. The number of KDIS graduates since its establishment exceeded 2,000, and these graduates are playing active roles as future leaders in the public and private sectors.
