We are privileged to announce that the Thai government has appointed GRIPS alum Ms. Onfa Vejjajiva as the first female Secretary-General of Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC). NESDC is a strategic planning agency for the Royal Thai Government, under the Office of the Prime Minister.

After graduating in 2003 from the MEXT-sponsored Young Leaders Program at GRIPS with a Master of Public Policy, Ms. Onfa served in the Office of the Cabinet Secretariat and the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC). Subsequently she was officially appointed, with royal endorsement, Secretary-General of NESDC on October 1, 2025.
