My research interest is to study politics in Southeast Asia including governance, decentralization, political representation and administration reforms which particularly focus on organizational restructuring reforms in the public sector. Besides, I am also interested in studying international relations in the modern context.

Prior to enrolling at GRIPS as a PhD student in G-Cube program, I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science at Can Tho University in Vietnam and was awarded Master of Public Policy by The Australian National University in Australia. I have worked as a civil servant at Department of Home Affairs in Hau Giang Province, Vietnam since 2010. In 2017, I was offered a Small Grant Fund by Vietnam-Australia Human Resource Development Partnership for my project on "Women representative roles in Communal People's Council in Hau Giang". In addition, I am a member of Policy Consultant Group under the administration of Hau Giang Province People's Committee.

I chose G-Cube as this is a unique program by its design which can improve my research and analytical skills under the supervision of prestigious GRIPS's professors. Furthermore, this global governance program provides a perfect international environment for me to enhance my leadership skills through learning from experienced leaders at GRIPS's Forums.

At present, I am affiliated with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as a bank officer evaluating the overall relevance and impact of bank-related policies as well as developing analytical tools for financial system surveillance and banking supervision. Prior to working in BSP, I was an Economic Development Specialist undertaking macroeconomic forecasting, policy analysis and research in the National Planning and Policy Staff at the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) from 2004 to 2013.

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2003 and a Master in International Development at the International University of Japan in 2010. My research focuses on consequences of macroprudential policies and financial imbalances on the banking industry as well as the economy as a whole.

Earning a Ph.D. Degree in Global Governance from GRIPS is a means to keep abreast of new tools and advanced techniques for research and policy development. The program provides policy workshops and policy debates as well as elective courses on empirical finance, quantitative methods, time series analysis and econometrics, to name a few. These are essential for doing vulnerability analysis and surveillance of the financial system.
