I am focusing on International security studies and my research interests are International relations, Counter terrorism and Security dynamics among strong and weaker nations.
Before beginning my Ph.D., I worked as a government servant in Pakistan for 7 years and have served as a lecturer of English language and literature to B.A. and M.A. classes for 4 years before joining civil service. I hold an M.Phil. degree in American Studies with distinction (gold medal) from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. I earned an M.A. in English Literature from University of the Punjab, Lahore and B.A. in Economics and English Literature from Lahore College for Women University, Lahore. My outside interests include reading literature of different cultures and writing short stories.
I have joined the G-Cube program at GRIPS because it offers all the relevant courses which I wanted to pursue and more so because it offers rigorous and comprehensive training for mid-career civil servants.

I study economic development and international relations, focused mainly on economic policies and theories of international relations. My background includes theapplication of applied mathematics to policy analysis and studying regionalism.
Before beginning my Ph.D. at GRIPS, I spent six years as a career diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives. Recently, I have served as a Director supervising Secretary-General's Office, at the Secretariat of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Born in N. Holhudhoo, Maldives, I graduated from the University of Western Australia, in 2004, with B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics. In 2007, I completed my M.Sc. from Carnegie Mellon University in Public Policy and Management.
I chose the Global Governance Program (G-cube) at GRIPS because in addition to introducing skills to do research on pressing policy issues, the program prepares graduates to become successful participants, change agents and leaders in a range of institutions across the globe.

I am interested in the Political-Administrative Interface in the Public Policy/Governance Processes with particular emphasis on Whole-of-Government Approaches to the Development of Capacity Building Policies and Programs for Critical Public Service Institutions.
Prior to my enrolment in the Global Governance Program, I served as Assistant Director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service (OHCS) for five (5) years focusing on the development of sector-wide capacity building policies for the general efficiency of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies within the Public Service of Ghana. I also had the privilege of working as Teaching Assistant in the subject areas of Development Administration and Management of Non-Governmental Organizations at the Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management in the University of Ghana Business School during the second year of my MPhil degree in Public Administration in 2010. I earned my B.A degree in Sociology with Political Science and an Mphil degree in Public Administration both from the University of Ghana in the years 2007 and 2011 respectively.
The Global Governance Program at GRIPS will equip me with a broad understanding of the Public Policy and Governance Processes within a global perspective including how to take full advantage of emerging commendable practices and systems.

My research interest revolves around economic policy formulation and policy implementations particularly in developing countries.
I was born in Kilimanjaro -Tanzania, I worked as an Economist with the Ministry of Finance and President's Office Delivery Bureau as a resource mobilization expert. I joined the Ministry of Finance in February 2005 from Tanzania Cigarette Company where I worked as an Internal Auditor. I hold a B.A Economics (Hon.) from the University of Dar es Salaam-Tanzania (2004) and M.A in International Development Studies from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies - GRIPS , Japan (2008).
Before Joining Ph.D. program at GRIPS, I was a Member of the Hubert Kairuki Memorial University Council; a Member of Founding Council of the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology; and Member of Tanzania Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TEITI) Multi-Stakeholders Working Group.
In 2014, I was fortunate to be admitted to GRIPS for PHD Studies as a first Cohort student of the G-Cube Program. Being a former GRIPS student, I acknowledge the quality of programmes offered by GRIPS which are designed to mould students to become global leaders and top policy analysts with the ability to generate solutions. It is an undisputable fact that GRIPS is capable and has indeed produced strong, effective, reliable and world-class leaders especially in the field of Economics and Policy Analysis. It is my expectation that, the knowledge acquired by joining the G-Cube program at GRIPS will highly develop my skills in analytical thinking, communicating, negotiating and synthesising issues and allow me to be able to develop home-grown policies and strategies to address challenges and contribute in achieving sustainable development.

My area of research interests are Asian financial markets,law&economics and international relations.
Regarding my background, I obtained my LL.B. in Business Law with 1st class honorsand my M.A. in Business and Managerial Economics with GPAX 4.00 from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok and obtainedmy LL.M. in International Commercial Laws with Merit from King's College, London. Prior to studying at G-Cube, I have been working at the Bank of Thailand for 4 years with the experience inthe Legal Department and the Prudential Policy Department. My current position is senior legal officer. My duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to providing legal advice, drafting laws and regulations, cooperating with other government offices and state agencies such as Ministry of Finance and assisting with monetary policy and financial institution policy.
I chose G-Cube because G-Cube provides me with tuition from outstanding professors and renowned guest speakers. Emphasis on group tutorials and collaboration with people from different cultural and professional background will prepare me with the pre-established perceptions of the real world and help me succeed in my career.

My research interest is regional economic integration in East Asian, where the main focus is on the development of regional economic corridors and their contribution to human development.
I started my career as an academic officer in 1994 and served as a lecturer at the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (NAPPA) since 1998. In 2002, I was assigned to work as a policy researcher at the National Economic Research Institute (NERI) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Since then my main research and advisory career has focused on international economic and development as a part to support the implementation of national plans and strategy. In 2009, I was appointed as a Deputy Director General of NERI and a Research Advisor of the Institute as well as an Adjunct-Lecturer of NAPPA. I earned my B.A. in Political Science and Economic Management in the National School of Policy Studies, Vientiane in 1998 and completed my M.A. in International Relations at the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University, Tokyo in 2001.
I am currently enrolled in the G-cube program of GRIPS for my PhD, and I am convinced that the structure of this program will offer a good opportunity for me to widen my knowledge on the contemporary world as well as to interact and network with high-profile professors at GRIPS and students from all around the world, which will provide a better future in my career.

I study development economics and my research interests include economic development, non-farm sector development, internal/external migration, and their effect on women empowerment.
I earned a BA in economics at Sophia University and studied at Seattle University in the US as a part of my program. I then completed my MA with a Two-Year Master's Program of Public Policy at GRIPS and wrote my thesis on economic development and women empowerment in Bangladesh. During my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I obtained a range of field experiences in Thailand, Kenya, the US, and Sudan through internship and volunteer activities. I was an intern with Global Washington, ICRC Tokyo Office, and JICA Sudan Office.
I chose G-cube because G-cube provides me with interdisciplinary educations and advanced knowledge and analytical skills which are needed for public policy professionals. Fascinating colleagues with different background from Asia and Africa and experienced faculty members in G-cube are also attractive features. I enjoy the diverse global hub that G-cube offers to me.
