INTRODUCTION

The Vietnam Development Forum (VDF) Tokyo invites you to participate in the 4th VDF-Tokyo Conference on the Development of Vietnam to be held at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) on Saturday, 09 August 2008. There will be a morning session with invited keynote speakers, concurrent sessions and "one-page presentation" session.

VDF-Tokyo promotes exchange of knowledge and ideas in the areas related to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. The Conference welcomes scholars, researchers and practitioners as speakers as well as general participants. We aim to have a number of high quality papers covering the whole range of economic and social issues in Vietnam's current context.

Good papers will be considered for VDF discussion papers. VDF may consider highly original papers for publication in book form.

The Conference will be chaired by Dr. Kenichi Ohno, a Professor of GRIPS and the Research Director of VDF.
