Industrial Policy in an Era of Sustainable Development
After a period of decline, industrial policy is back. This time around, it is the developing economies that are trailblazing the charge. The fairly rapid recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic has seemingly swung the momentum even more towards the developing economies. Is there now a new development model, including but not limited to the Beijing–Seoul–Tokyo (BeST) Consensus? If so, how is it impacting the Global South, which constitutes the majority of humankind? Our multiyear research aims to make sense of these issues, drawing on vital theoretical insights from the disciplines of economic geography and international business, in addition to those from related disciplines.
