The Current Conditions and Trends in Transportation with guest lecturer Professor Ben-Akiva
The recent ubiquity of smartphones and advances in ICT has brought about lifestyle changes and diversification of values. Considering such changes, there is an increasing need for transportation behavior analysis.
We have invited the leading authority in transportation behavior analysis, Professor Ben-Akiva of MIT to lecture. Professor Ben-Akiva is the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his research and publications, serves on the editorial boards of leading transportation journals, and is involved in a number of social projects based on his academic work.
In this lectures, Professor Hibino will introduce new movements in transportation in Boston and the application of activity-based analysis to transportation planning in the Tokyo metropolitan area as future research.
Professor Ben-Akiva will speak about the smartphone-based automated travel surveys in Singapore and the analysis using this data.
