On October 31, the ambassador of the Republic of Latvia, Ms. Dace Treija-Masi, visited GRIPS and met with GRIPS President Akihiko Tanaka.

At the start of the meeting, President Tanaka noted that the Latvian graduate who had attended GRIPS had been an extremely good student, and Ambassador Treija-Masi responded that they had become a great diplomat. President Tanaka said that he wanted to keep proactively bringing in highly talented students, and went on to introduce a range of initiatives being undertaken by GRIPS.

It has now been 20 years since GRIPS was established, and  GRIPS continues to work towards bringing in more students and strengthening its alumni network.
