Training Program on Management and Leadership for Sustainable Marine, Coastal and Small Islands 2016

GRIPS had the training program titled “Management and Leadership for Sustainable Marine, Coastal and Small Islands 2016” at the request of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia from August 22 to September 1, 2016.

 

During the program, participants received lectures on leadership, government reform and innovation, government policy process, marine policies (including coral reef conservation), fisheries policies, environment policies, science and technology Policy, and disaster management.

 

They also had the opportunity to visit Japanese Government Ministries, Tsukiji fish market and JAMSTEC.

Participants then took part in two workshops involving group discussion of Leadership and Ocean and Marine policy. After the discussion, each group reported the outcomes of its discussion and had the plenary session for further discussion.

 

On the final day of the training program, each participant received a certificate of course completion from Program Director Masahiro Horie, GRIPS Senior Professor and Director of the Executive Development Center for Global Leadership.
