Japanese alumni of the class of 2014 met at GRIPS for a reunion on February 20, 2016. Despite the rainy weather that day, 23 graduates from various programs had a lively party in the cafeteria.

One of the participants, Toshiaki Tomita, a Disaster Risk Management Program graduate, said,

“We enjoyed ourselves talking about the old days at GRIPS, trying to remember what it was like at this time last year. That was the roughest time for most of us, when we were dealing with our theses. I’m glad that we had the opportunity to discuss how to apply the things we learned at GRIPS to our current challenges at work. It was an especially happy time as we were also celebrating the marriage of two members of our graduating class. At the end of the party, we all warmly vowed to get together again in the near future, and to make even greater efforts in our life and work. After the party in the GRIPS cafeteria, we carried on celebrating at the izakaya where we used to gather in our student days, toasting our friendship and precious networking late into the night.
