On January 24, 2013, the Sixth GRIPS International Friendship Concert was held at the Sokairo Hall of GRIPS. The Concert is held every year to provide our students and faculty an opportunity to get to know the local residents, as well as to give our students a rare experience of enjoying excellent Japanese art. Around 260 people attended this year to enjoy an evening of music together. GRIPS co-hosted the concert with the Minato Kiss-port Foundation and Organization of Artists from the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program sponsored by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

The concert featured both Japanese and international music, including famous arias performed by four Japanese opera singers: Ms. Noriko Higuma (soprano), Ms. Tomoko Maiya (mezzo soprano), Mr. Seiichi Yamada (tenor) and Mr. Takehiko Maiya (baritone). Pianist Ms. Yuko Mori also appeared on stage as the accompaniment for all of the performers, enticing the audience with the rich sound of piano music harmonized with the voices. Mr. Tadahiko Hirano, Chairman of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Artist Program, played the role of MC, introducing the performers and giving the audience brief commentary on the songs. At the last encore song, Ms. Higuma and Mr. Maiya sang the duet “Mira, d’acerbe lagrime” from the Opera ‘Il Trovatore,’ and the performance fascinated the audience.

The audience seemed to enjoy all the performances and enthusiastically cheered and applauded the performers. A simple reception was held following the concert, where performers, GRIPS students and guests enjoyed an opportunity to communicate and to get to know each other better.

2013年1月24日、今回で第6回目となるGRIPS国際交流コンサートが想海樓ホールにて開催され、学内外から約260名の方が来場しました。このコンサートは、本学と地域住民の方々との交流、そして本学の学生に日本の優れた芸術文化に触れる機会を提供することを目的として毎年開催しているものです。開催にあたっては、文化庁芸術家在外研修員の会、港区スポーツふれあい文化健康財団（Kissポート財団）及び港区にご協力をいただきました。

今回のコンサートでは、第一部では世界と日本の歌曲を、第二部ではオペラ・アリアを４名の歌手の皆様（ソプラノ：日隈 典子氏、メゾソプラノ：米谷 朋子氏、テノール：山田 精一氏、バリトン：米谷 毅彦氏）に歌っていただきました。全ての曲目の伴奏として、ピアノの森　裕子氏が歌に寄り添った素晴らしい演奏を聞かせてくれました。また、今年も在研会理事長の平野忠彦氏が出演者の紹介と曲の解説をしてくださいました。アンコール最後の曲では、ベルディ　イル・トルバトーレ第４幕　二重唱「私の願いを聞いてください」を、ソプラノ：日隈氏と、バリトン：米谷氏が熱唱し、観客を魅了していました。

来場されたお客様は名曲を楽しみ、歌手のすばらしいパフォーマンスに大きな拍手と歓声を送っていました。1時間半にわたるコンサート後に開かれた交流会では、出演者、世界各国から来ている本学の学生、そして来場者が交流を深め、一時間では時間が足りないほど話が弾み、大変楽しい会となりました。
