East Asian Public Sector Leadership Challenges 2 for Thai Executives

GRIPS conducted a 3-day training program entitled the Training Program on “East Asian Public Sector Leadership Challenges” for Thai Executives (EAPSLC) from October 21-23, 2009. The program was developed in response to a request from the Office of the Civil Service Committee (OCSC) in Thailand. GRIPS welcomed 42 promising government officials, selected by the Thai government currently in minister or director.

For the EAPSLC training program, GRIPS faculty members including Professor Horie, Director of the Program, and Professor Hara, and Dr. Okita, Academic Fellow and former professor of GRIPS gave the lecture. In the professor Tanaka’s class, Japanese GRIPS students joined his lecture which raised the motivation of trainees. Through the lectures, the participants learned about many things such as Roles of the Government, Leadership, Development in Japanese Economy, Anti-corruption Systems, and Crisis-management and Manager’s roles.

To learn more Japanese history or background of government, they looked around the National Diet, Kasumigaseki, Imperial Palace and Nijubashi by bus, and EAPSLC training program closed.
