  • Abstract

With increasing globalization, there is imminent danger of occurrence and spread of newly emerging infectious diseases. In 2003, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) spread to many countries and became a global problem. The world is now confronting with new threats such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and new avian influenza A(H7N9). International collaboration is therefore necessary to combat such global infectious diseases threats. However, there are many challenges to establish collaborative mechanism among the international community.
