Symposium on Reconstruction from the 2015 Nepal Earthquake -Better Recovery through Technical Cooperation (Build Back Better: BBB)
- Objective
Vulnerable buildings and houses in developing countries often cause severe earthquake disasters as clearly seen at the Nepal Earthquake in 2015. The International Institute for Earthquake Engineering (IISEE) of the Building Research Institute (BRI) carries out international training and research with National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and UNESCO on earthquake engineering. Based on the results, IISEE, GRIPS and JICA will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and to propose reconstruction measures against future earthquake disaster risks when key persons of responsible ministries and municipalities visit Japan as a part of JICA Technical Cooperation Project.
This international symposium is co-organized by JICA, IISEE of BRI and GRIPS.
