Professor Ginandjar Kartasasmita visited GRIPS
On April 25, 2023, Professor Ginandjar Kartasasmita, Doctor Emeritus and former visiting professor at GRIPS, visited GRIPS and met with President Ota and Executive Vice President Kurosawa.
Professor Ginandjar has held important positions in the Indonesian government including the position of Minister of Coordination for Economy, Finance and Industry and the position of Member of the Presidential Advisory Council.
In May 2008, in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Indonesia, he was awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.
For many years, Professor Ginandjar taught at GRIPS as a visiting professor. During that time, he made an important contribution to education at GRIPS including a commemorative speech at the 2016 graduation ceremony and his chairmanship of the International Advisory Committee (IAC). In 2016, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate.
