GRIPS and Stockholm University co-hosted a webinar on Japanese security policy on November 15, 2021 with the generous support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Professor Yoko Iwama of GRIPS gave a lecture entitled, “Thinking about Deterrence for Japan and Stability in Asia,” in which she discussed the current situation in East Asia, Japan’s security policy and approach to the stability in Asia. The webinar, which attracted about 10 participants, was moderated by Dr. Thomas Jonter, Professor of Stockholm University.

During the discussion session, participants raised questions about issues related to Japan’s nuclear and missile policy and future security strategies.
