Call for Papers and Participation
in
The 1st VDF Tokyo Conference on the Development of Vietnam
18 June 2005

The First VDF Tokyo Conference on the Development of Vietnam will be held at the GRIPS new campus in Tokyo on the 18th of June 2005. VDF Tokyo promotes exchange of knowledge and ideas in the areas related to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. The Conference welcomes scholars, researchers and practitioners as speakers as well as general participants.

Language: All papers and presentations should be in English
Submission procedure:

CLOSED

Papers should be submitted by 15 May 2005 by email. They will be reviewed for originality, clarity, style and suitability for the Conference. Submitted paper should not have been published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. The notification of the review result will be sent out via email by 5 June 2005. (Please send your mail to vngripsnet@grips.ac.jp with the subject heading "VDF-Tokyo Conference: Paper")
General participation procedure:

CLOSED

Those wishing to participate in the VDF-Tokyo Conference as an audience member must register in advance. Please send an email to vngripsnet@grips.ac.jp providing your Name, Nationality, Affiliation, Title, Field of study or work, Phone and Email, no later than 16 June 2005. (Please send your email with the subject heading "VDF-Tokyo Conference: Participation")
Registration fee: None
Financial support: Travel grants for paper presenters residing in Japan are available based on demonstrated need. Travel grants are not provided for paper presenters residing outside Japan (unless they are specially invited by VDF).
All paper presenters who live outside Tokyo area are eligible for financial support for 2-day stay in Tokyo.
Publication: Good papers will be considered for VDF discussion papers. VDF may consider highly original papers for publication in book form.
