He has been working in the area of quantitative public policy analysis. He uses actual quantitative data appearing in the process of planning, making, implementing and evaluating various public policies. Then he applies various types of quantitative data processing techniques including statistical data analysis technique and mathematical modeling techniques such as deterministic and probabilistic optimization models and simulation methods, and so on in order to investigate the public policy from various viewpoints. He aims at obtaining desirable and optimal public policy by applying various scientific approaches.

Research outputs include application of quantitative data analysis approaches to agricultural policy, social infrastructure policy, higher education policy, energy and environmental policy, healthcare policy, and so on.
