Institute for Comparative Studies in Local Governance

The Development Strategy Research Project aims to develop the most effective development strategies that low income countries should adopt as well as the most appropriate forms and levels of assistance that advanced countries should provide.

We will conduct research on the roles of human capital, agricultural development, and industrialization in poverty alleviation, and make proposals toward the society of international development.

The project is implemented by the faculty members in the GRIPS-FASID Joint Program in International Development Studies. In addition, we invite leading researchers in the field to participate in this project. Results of this research form the foundation of our graduate programs.
