One-year Master's Program of Public Policy (MP1) (How to Apply)

Scholarships:

a) Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship
b) Asian Development Bank - Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)
c) Embassy of Japan (Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship) *Please apply for GRIPS after the primary screening at the Embassy of Japan in your country.
d) Applicants supported with any other scholarship and self-financed

Note: Please make sure to obtain ID and Password for online application by submitting the Entry Form no later than November 25, 2011.
The application deadline is subject to change on short notice, through directive from the Japanese Government (MEXT).

Target Groups:

a) & c) For MEXT scholarships: government officials and senior students who are planning careers as government officials.
b) For ADB-JSP scholarships: at least two years of work experience in the public or private sector.
d) Early- and mid-career professionals and staff members in local or national governments and international organizations

Age Limit:

a) & c) For MEXT scholarships: under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2012
b) For ADB-JSP scholarships: under 36 years of age as of April 1, 2012
d) N/A

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL score: iBT 79 (PBT 550)
IELTS score: 6.0

1. TOEFL or IELTS original score report
*Test scores are valid for two years from the test date. (GRIPS TOEFL institution code is. 9040, a photocopy is not acceptable.)
or
2. Official documents that certify applicant’s undergraduate/graduate education was conducted in English.
*An official document issued by the educational institute you attended is required.

Eligible Countries:

a) & c) For MEXT scholarships: citizens of those countries with which Japan has established diplomatic relations.
b) For ADB-JSP scholarships: citizens of the developing countries that are borrowing members of the Asian Development Bank.
