(Ph.D.) Disaster Management Program (How to Apply)

Financial Aid:

a) International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management (ICHARM) Research Assistantship.
b) Scholarship under the JICA AUN/SEED-Net

Application Forms:

Should be obtained from and returned to the Public Works Research Institute of Japan (PWRI)

Application Deadline:

March 9, 2012

* For scholarship under the JICA AUN/SEED-Net: Please apply for GRIPS after the primary screening at the AUN/SEED-Net Project [Deadline for scholarship: October 28, 2011].

Target Groups:

The program examines and selects candidates who;
- have motivation and capabilities for doctoral level work, and
- will train experts in the field of water-related risk management after completion of this program.

To be eligible for admission to the program, an applicant must have research or practical experiences more than one year in the field of water-related risk management in organizations including universities, or have written Master's thesis related to water-related risk management.

Age Limit:

a) For ICHARM Research Assistantship: N/A
b) For scholarship under the JICA AUN/SEED-Net: Applicants must be under the age of 35 at the time of enrollment

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL score: iBT 79 (PBT 550)
IELTS score: 6.0

*Test scores are valid for two years from the test date. (GRIPS TOEFL institution code is. 9040, a photocopy is not acceptable.)

2. Official documents that certify applicant's undergraduate/graduate education was conducted in English.
*An official document issued by the educational institute you attended is required.

b) For scholarship under the JICA AUN/SEED-Net: Applicants must be from AUN/SEED-Net Member Institutions of Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam
