Non-Degree Options

Non-degree Special Students

GRIPS admits individuals who wish to take coursework but have sound academic and/or professional reasons for not wishing to enter a degree program as a Special Student. Special Students must hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent, and must present evidence of fitness for admission at the graduate level. Special Student register for courses and attend classes as a regular graduate student would. They receive credit for completed coursework and, upon request, can receive transcripts describing the course and credits earned.

Application Deadline

The Admissions Office accepts applications from special students year-round. However, applicants must consult the Admissions Office about any courses that applicants are interested in. After that, applicants must apply at least two month prior to the beginning of the term. For example, to enroll in the Summer Term, the application deadline falls on May 31.
