Disaster Management Policy Program (How to Apply)

Scholarships:

(This program is conducted as the training course of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with Building Research Institute (BRI) or Public Works Research Institute (PWRI), targeting experts in developing countries.)

Target Groups:

a) Earthquake Disaster Mitigation : university graduates in Seismology, Earthquake Engineering or Seismic Disaster Mitigation or university graduates in Science and Technology other than above mentioned subjects with professional experience of three or more years in the field of Seismology, Earthquake Engineering or Seismic Disaster Mitigation or Tsunami.
Tsunami Disaster Mitigation : university graduates in Seismology, Tsunami or their Disaster Mitigation or university graduates in Science and Technology other than above mentioned subjects with professional experience of three or more years in the field of Seismology, Tsunami or their Disaster Mitigation
b) Water-related Disaster Management : be engineers or technical officers who have three or more year of experience in the field of flood management.
c) Water-related Disaster Management : must have working knowledge of civil engineering, especially of hydraulics and hydrology.

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL score: iBT 79 (CBT 213, PBT 550)
IELTS score: 6.0

1. TOEFL or IELTS original score report
*The test should be taken no earlier than 2 years before the submission date of your application. (GRIPS TOEFL code no. 9040, a photocopy is not acceptable.)

2. Undergraduate/graduate education conducted in English
*An official document issued by the educational institute you attended is required.
