How materials are arranged

Library Resources

Most of the Library’s materials are in the open-stacks. Users are expected to freely find, use and photocopy the materials.
For borrowing procedure, see Borrowing / Returning / Reserving.

When you use the materials and do not intend to borrow, return them to their original location or place them on the Book Return Carts when you are finished.

See Floor Plan (PDF) to view the sections where materials can be found.

How materials are arranged

Books

Books in the Library are organized by call numbers printed on the spine of the book.
Call number represents the book’s subject (classification by Nippon Decimal Classification system) and indicates the location on the shelf where the book can be found.
All books are arranged together, not separated by language.

Journals

Journals are arranged in title’s alphabetical order.
Journals cannot be checked out. Read or photocopy them only inside the Library.
