International Development Studies Program

主要ドナーである我が国にとって、国際開発の分野で実践的かつ指導的役割を果たすことのできる人材がますます必要とされています。このプログラムでは、そのような人材を育成するため、グローバルスタンダードに照準をあわせた大学院教育を行っています。国際的に活躍する教授陣による指導、貧困問題、環境問題など国際開発の重要課題を学べるカリキュラム、英語で行われる授業、さらに実践を重視した教育と海外でのインターンシップを通じ、理論、実践及び国際コミュニケーション能力の向上を図り、国際開発の第一線で活躍できる人材の養成を目指しています。

このプログラムでは、様々な分野の知識や経験を持つ学生が、共に学んでいます。学生の半数は、アジア、アフリカ諸国の開発行政担当者、日本人学生の多くは開発援助業務に携わった経験のある人材であり、開発援助活動の実態を議論できる環境があります。

このプログラムは、外務省の協力と独立行政法人国際協力機構（JICA）の支援を受け、政策研究大学院大学と財団法人国際開発高等教育機構（FASID）の連携の下に運営されています。（2009年度入学者対象）

本プログラムでは、国際開発分野における効果的な政策研究を実施しており、グローバルな視点に加え世界各地域の課題解決に向けた様々なカリキュラムを用意しています。

必修科目においては国際開発に関する基礎的な知識や、経済学・統計学を用いた開発課題を理解できるカリキュラムを構成しています。また、選択科目においては貧困削減問題に焦点を充てた講義や、開発課題解決に向けた政府の役割、科学技術や環境といった分野に特化したカリキュラムを用意しています。

このように体系的なカリキュラムを集中的に受講することで、開発課題の具体的事例を用いた政策立案・提言に結びつけられる人材育成を目指しています。
